A REST API for your own automation
Create monitors from your deployment scripts, read their status from your own dashboards or pause them during a release. The API uses personal access tokens that you can revoke at any time.
14 days, no commitment. Cancel any time.
How it works
- 1
Create a token
In the tokens page, name it and choose read or write access. It is shown once.
- 2
Send it as a bearer token
Add an Authorization: Bearer header to your requests.
- 3
Revoke it when done
Delete the token and it stops working at once.
What you get
Read or write
A read token can only look. Use it for dashboards and reports.
Revocable
Tokens can be removed individually, and the last time each was used is shown.
Same as the app
The API that the application uses: monitors, channels, incidents and status pages can all be automated. Billing, account and token management stay in the app.
Scoped to the workspace
A token only reaches the data of its own workspace.
Where it helps
Infrastructure as code
Create monitors together with the services they watch.
Dashboards
Show status in your own tools.
Release scripts
Pause and resume monitors around a deploy.
Questions
Are tokens stored in plain text?
No. Only a hash is kept, which is why a token is shown just once, when you create it.
Can a token change account security settings?
No. Tokens cannot change settings such as two-factor authentication.
Is there a limit on API use?
Normal use is fine. Requests that look like abuse can be limited.
