Monitoring

Page speed monitoring with a real browser

A page can answer fast and still feel slow. FrogStatus loads it in a real browser on a schedule and records what a visitor would wait for, so you see a slowdown before they do.

14 days, no commitment. Cancel any time.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add the page

Enter the URL of the page to measure and choose the page speed type.

  2. 2

    Set the interval

Browser checks are heavier, so they run every 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Watch the trend

Each run records its measurements, so you can compare today with last week.

What you get

What a visitor waits for

Load time, time to first byte, DOMContentLoaded, page size and number of requests.

Core Web Vitals

First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift and Total Blocking Time.

A real browser

Pages are rendered by a headless Chromium, so JavaScript and images count, not just the HTML.

Catch regressions

A heavier page after a deploy shows up as a step in the chart.

Where it helps

  • After every release

See whether a deploy made the home page slower.

  • Landing pages

Keep pages that carry advertising spend fast.

  • Third-party scripts

Notice when an added script weighs the page down.

Questions

Which plans include it?

Plus and above. The number of page speed monitors depends on the plan: 1 on Plus, 5 on Pro and 25 on Enterprise.

Is it the same as Google PageSpeed Insights?

No. It uses our own browser and our own servers, so the numbers describe the page as loaded from there, not from your visitors’ devices.

Why are the checks less frequent?

Loading a page in a browser uses far more resources than a plain request, so each page is checked every 30 minutes.
